Databases are the best way of finding peer-reviewed articles, scholarly books, conferences, theses and other information on your topic. Some databases enable you to search across disciplines while others are tailored to help researchers in your specific subject.
Science Direct is a multidisciplinary database with access to over 23 million full-text articles from more than 3000 peer-reviewed journals, as well as more than 48,000 books from over 50 imprints. Covered subjects include biochemistry, genetics and molecular biology, chemistry, clinical medicine, engineering, and veterinary medicine.
Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database containing both peer-reviewed research literature and quality web sources. With over 19,000 titles from more than 5,000 international publishers, Scopus offers researchers a quick, easy and comprehensive resource to support their research needs in the scientific, technical, medical and social sciences fields and, more recently, also in the arts and humanities.
Web of Science is a multidisciplinary platform indexing leading scholarly literature from several databases of peer-reviewed journals across the sciences and other disciplines. The platform includes research tools for advanced searching, citation reports, and bibliometrics, including Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), and Journal Citation Reports (JCR).

Engineering Village combines and hosts two databases: Compendex and Inspec. These databases contain engineering journals, conference materials, and technical reports on all aspects of engineering. Special indexing allows for controlled searching of specific subjects. Inspec Analytics enables research professionals to uncover trends and patterns beyond the literature across a wide range of physics and engineering disciplines.
IEEE Xplore is a digital platform for discovery and access to over 6 million documents from publications in electrical engineering, computer science, and related sciences.

Materials Science & Engineering Collection
The ProQuest Materials Science & Engineering Database contains full-text titles from scholarly journals, trade and industry journals, magazines, technical reports, conference proceedings and government publications on all materials engineering subjects. It includes both the METADEX and Copper and Polymer Library databases.
The SAE Digital Library is a repository of technical content vehicle technology, covering all types of land, sea, air, and space vehicles. The database contains full text technical papers, magazines, journals from 2008-2022 and EDGE reports from 1998-present.
Springer Materials provides data and advanced functionalities to support research in materials science, physics, chemistry, engineering, and other related fields, covering over 290,000 materials and over 3,000 physical and chemical properties.

The Emerald database contains over 120 British journals and the Emerald Business, Management & Economics e-Book Collection, all covering the major management disciplines including strategy, leadership, information management, marketing and human resource management. The European Patent Office's Espacenet provides detailed searching of EPO, PC, US and other patent applications. Some older patents may be searchable only by patent number. Full text of patents and applications is available as PDF files.

Nexis Uni contains full-text access to newspapers and current affairs publications from across the world, a well as UK national and local newspapers, with coverage from the 1980s to the present. Nexis Uni also provides company profiles, industry news, country reports, biographies, and legal and regulatory information.
Statista is a global data and business intelligence platform with an extensive collection of statistics, reports, and insights on over 80,000 topics from 22,500 sources in 170 industries, with sources from market research, trade publications, scientific journals, and government databases. Statista provides direct access to quantitative data on 21 market sectors.
Passport provides integrated access to internationally comparable statistics, full-text market reports, insightful comment form expert industry and country analysts, as well as thousands of sources of further information.
