LSEG Workspace is a new global company and financial database from the London Stock Exchange Group:
LSEG Workspace is available to all students and staff at the University of Warwick for academic and non-commercial purposes only. LSEG Workspace can be accessed remotely off-campus, making it is more accessible to commuter and distance-learning students.
The University has 50 x Student Workspace licences and 2 x Professor Workspace licences. Student licences are suitable for most users - including academic and research users. Licences are generally assigned for a period of 7 days, and include access to LSEG Workspace and Datastream.
Academic staff and researchers wishing to publish research using LSEG Workspace data, or who expect to exceed the 10 million data point download limit in Datastream should contact their Research & Academic Support Librarian to seek a Professor Licence. Academic staff who wish to use LSEG Workspace in teaching or assessments should also contact their Research & Academic Support Librarian to discuss special arrangements.
As of 27 October 2025, the Library introduced a new process for requesting access to LSEG Workspace: we have withdrawn the LSEG Self-Registration Portal and introduced a new LSEG Workspace Request Form.
We found that the LSEG Self-Registration process did not advise users when all licences were in use, and did not operate a waiting list after user applications had failed. We felt this was a poor experience for University of Warwick users. The new process allows us to offer a waiting list, ensure equitable access to all of our users, and improved our communications about access to the database.
